The Uniform Guidance reporting calendar
A federal award comes with a reporting schedule. Here is how it is built.
Checked 2026-10-05. General information, not legal or grants advice.
Frequency
Under the The federal rules for grants, at 2 CFR 200: allowable costs, indirect costs, reporting, audits and closeout., an agency may ask for performance and financial reports no more often than quarterly and no less often than annually, unless a statute says otherwise. Your award states which.
When each one is due
Interim reports are due no later than 30 days after the reporting period (quarterly or semiannual) or 90 days after it (annual). Final reports are due within 120 days of the end of the period of performance.
Closeout and record keeping
After the final reports, keep the award’s records for three years from the date you submit the final financial report.
